Nissan chooses the Port of Gdansk - another automotive contract

Since April 1, 2017, a three-year contract for the transport of Nissan cars belonging to Renault Nissan Alliance via the Port of Gdansk will be implemented. Cars intended for the Polish, Lithuanian, Latvian, Ukrainian, Czech, Slovak and Hungarian markets will be transported to the Port of Gdansk.

PGA SA meets the demands of the trade unions

On March 1, 2017, Port of Gdansk Authority SA signed an Additional Protocol to the Collective Labour Agreement. This means that PGA SA has met the demands pursued for years by both trade unions - the Independent Self-Governing Trade Union "Solidarity" and the Free Trade Union of Workers of Maritime Economy.

PGA SA supports new technologies for transport

On 2 March 2017, Pomorska Specjalna Strefa Ekonomiczna Sp. z o.o. (the Pomeranian Special Economic Zone) and the Port of Gdansk Authority SA signed a partnership agreement for the project "Satellite techniques for intermodal transport") (Space 3ac Intermodal Transportation) under the Smart Growth Operational Programme 2014-2020. The agreement provides the framework for PGS SA's participation in the project as the Large Enterprise submitting the port's requirement for satellite technology solutions.

Port of Gdansk closes 2016 with a record in the use of land transport

Last year, the Gdansk port handled a total of nearly half a million trucks and almost 240,000 railway wagons. In comparison to 2015, it was a leap of 43% in the case of trucks, and of 24% in terms of the intensity of rail traffic. This data regarding land transport traffic are the best result ever for the Port of Gdansk.

The Port of Gdansk is about to become more beautiful

The Port of Gdansk Authority is implementing a visual enhancement project, i.e. improvement of the appearance of the areas around the entrance to the port. A ceremonial presentation of the investment planned by the PGA was organised on 16 February 2017 at the Port Master's Office at Gdansk's Port Polnocny. The results of the project should please not just the port's stakeholders, but also Gdansk's inhabitants and tourists.

The number of modernised warehouses and buildings is increasing

Thanks to the project involving thorough modernisation of the administration building on the Oliwskie Quay completed a few weeks ago, the quay gained a modern space intended for offices for the port's stakeholders.

New improvements for heavy vehicle traffic at the Port of Gdansk

For some time now, the DCT container terminal at the Port of Gdansk has been carrying out intensive work on improving the flow of heavy vehicle traffic within the terminal. For this purpose, in May 2016, it began informational meetings with shipping companies and freight forwarders, during which future users of the e.Brama system had the chance to find out what is involved in the advice note process and what its principles are.
