"DCT" - the Port of Gdansk's container brand

Gdansk will soon host the world's largest container ships of the Danish carrier A.P. Moller-Maersk. Already in mid-May, the Deepwater Container Terminal will handle "Maersk Elba" and "Maersk Eubank", with a carrying capacity of 13,092 TEU, whereas the call of "Eleonora Maersk", capable of shipping 15,550 of 20-feet containers, has been scheduled for 25 May.

On 24-25 March of this year, the Port of Gdansk played host to the members of the Copenhagen-Malmö Port Authority, along with the close 9-people-strong management of the port.

A weekend busy with ship calls

The stevedores of the seaport in Gdansk handled more than 400 thou. tonnes over the weekend. During two and a half months of this year, the port processed as much as 6.3 million tonnes of cargo, including 3.6 million tonnes of liquid fuels and over 130 tonnes TEUs.

Record throughput at the Port of Gdansk Authority SA

It took the Port of Gdansk as much as 30 years of work to repeat its 1978 statistical success. It was not until last year - thanks to the significant transit of Russian crude oil and rapid growth in container throughput - that the port reminded us of its potential by reaching the 27.2 million tonnes throughput.
