Iceland's Minister of Fisheries visits Poland

The Minister of Fisheries of the Republic of Iceland, Kristján Þór Júlíusson, met with representatives of the Port of Gdansk Authority. He learned about the port's potential in the context of using it for trade between Poland and Iceland. In Gdansk, the delegation also visited the cold storage and deepwater terminal.

Adam Zolnowski, Vice-President of the DCT Gdansk, won the 16th edition of the TOP Manager of Pomerania competition. The competition board comprised representatives of the business world from various sectors. According to them, the DCT at the Port of Gdansk has the best manager in the region.

Changes to the composition of the Board of the PGE

On 21 February 2018, Piotr Karczewski handed in his resignation from the function of President of the Port Gdanski Eksploatacja S.A.. He will cease performing his duties on 28 February. The decision was made for personal reasons. The PGE Supervisory Board accepted Mr. Karczewski's resignation.

Nearly 40 people took part in a walk around the Port of Gdansk. An area usually accessible only to the employees of Gdansk's port was visited by photography enthusiasts. The joint photo shoot attracted photography lovers not only from Gdansk and its vicinity, but also from other cities, including Warsaw.

The Port of Gdansk is the only Polish port to be included on the prestigious World Top Container Ports 2017 list prepared by "Container Management". The magazine's experts recognised the development of Gdansk's port in the area of container transshipment.

The Port of Gdansk will expand the Oliwskie Quay

In a little under two years, in the 3rd quarter of 2020, the Port of Gdansk is planning to put the modernised and expanded Oliwskie Quay into operation. The company put a contract out to tender and potential contractors can submit offers to 12 January. It is yet another investment which the PGA is planning to launch in the coming months. In total, the Port intends to spend about PLN 1 billion on investments by 2020.
