The implementation of the Three Seas initiative is getting closer
The Port of Gdansk Authority and the Croatian Port of Rijeka signed
a memorandum
of cooperation. On 21 November, during the international "Sea, Transport and Logistics" conference in Croatia, the companies undertook to work for their common interests and the development of transport corridors. The Polish and Croatian ports are linked through the project of the Trans-European Transport Network, which is of great significance for the maritime industry and the economy of both countries.

The Port of Gdansk is breaking new records in terms of transshipments
In October 2017, the Port of Gdansk achieved record results in transshipments, yet again. The amount of goods transported via the port kept growing visibly with each month in all cargo groups, particularly in the case of general cargo and cars. This has already become
a permanent
trend in the Port's transshipment results. Within the 10 months of 2017, the Port of Gdansk handled
a total
of 32,055,465 tonnes of goods, i.e. 3.4% more than in the same period of the previous year.

New sugar terminal to be constructed at the Port of Gdansk

and Krajowa Spolka Cukrowa S.A. signed an agreement on
a lease
of property for the construction of
a new
transshipment and shipping terminal along with access infrastructure intended for handling the transport of sugar. The new facility will be located right next to the Nabrzeze Wislane, which will enable entry and loading of ships with
a large
carrying capacity.

Central Port with support from Prime Minister Beata Szydlo

a decision
on the construction of the Central Port in Gdansk, as declared by Prime Minister Beata Szydlo during the 2

Meeting of Ministers of Transport of Central and Eastern European Countries and China. The 16+1 Forum, held in Warsaw on 25-26 October 2017, officially inaugurated the launch of the 16+1 Office for Maritime Affairs. The Port of Gdansk was one of the partners of the event.

Between 12 and 14 October 2017, the Port of Gdansk Authority participated in the China International Logistics and Transportation Fair in Shenzhen - for the second time. The fair is the largest logistics and transport event held in the region every year. Participation in the fair was

The Port of Gdansk to help develop inland navigation in Poland
The Port of Gdansk Authority has appointed an internal working group whose task will be to coordinate the process of preparing
a feasibility
study for the modernisation of the waterway connecting the Gulf of Gdansk and Zalew Wislany with the river system in Belarus. This long-term project is aimed at connecting the Baltic Sea with the Black Sea via
a network
of inland navigation canals. In the coming years, this will allow Poland to enhance its position as one of the key transit countries on the map of Europe.

Patryk Felmet becomes Development Director at the Port of Gdansk

2017, Patryk Felmet joined the management of the Port of Gdansk Authority as Development Director. Felmet will be responsible for the preparation of
a comprehensive
strategy for the Port of Gdansk's presence in international markets. He will also deal with marketing activities. Hitherto, he was president of P.U.P. Rezerwa,
a PGA
subsidiary.
