A new ocean shipping container service from Gdansk to Mexico23.06.2014 The Port of Gdansk Authority has launched a new ocean shipping container line. The Maersk Line service has linked Gdansk with Latin America. The voyage will take 24 days, with vessels making calls at the ports in Mexico, Belize, Panama, Costa Rica, Ireland, Great Britain, the Netherlands and Germany. A slightly longer return voyage of 31 days will additionally include the Russian ports of St. Petersburg and Ust-Luga, as well as the Finnish port of Kotka. Container carriers operating under the CRX service are scheduled to call at Gdansk on Saturdays, immediately upon departure of the AE10 service vessel from the "DCT" Terminal. The CRX ocean service comes as a Maersk Line's response to a growing demand for commercial exchange between Poland and Central America. It will additionally facilitate goods exchange with other services via the container hub in Panama. Launching of a new ocean shipping line has further strengthened Gdansk's position as a Baltic hub. In addition to its services from Shanghai, Morocco and Mexico, the Port of Gdansk operates nine regular shipping lines to 22 countries, handling containers as well as aggregates, conventional break-bulk, passengers and cars.
