A storm of awards for the Port of Gdansk Authority10.03.2016 "The Storms of Pomerania" award ceremony was held at the Musical Theatre in Gdynia on 8 March. The awards are presented by Gazeta Wyborcza daily and the Pomorskie Region Marshal's Office to renown personalities from the worlds of Pomeranian business, culture, sports, politics, and more. Awards in nine categories were granted in this year's competition: Investment Project, Event and Sportsman of the Year, Young Enterprise of the Year, Man of the Year, Discovery of the Year in culture and sports, Team of the Year and Enterprise of the Year. The winner in the Enterprise of the Year category was the Port of Gdansk Authority SA along with the Port of Gdynia Authority SA. The jury of the competition included independent experts, representatives of the Marshal's Office and journalists from Gazeta Wyborcza and decided to acknowledge excellent performance of the port, also in financial terms, as well as the record-breaking net profit margin, equal to 47% in 2015, which constitutes an improvement by more than 100% as compared to 2014. The Port of Gdansk was also rewarded both for projects in progress and those already completed, as well as for breaking more records in the field of Polish maritime economy. It appears that the previous year and the start of the current year came storming with awards for the Port of Gdansk, because about 2 weeks ago the Port of Gdansk Authority was announced the award winner of the Diamonds of Polish Infrastructure competition in the "Efficiency in management" category. |
