A visit of delegates from China

03.09.2012

On the last day of August PGA SA received representatives of China Harbour Engineering Company - David Xue and Zhu Gang, Marketing Department representatives, who were accompanied by: Beata Pawlowska - Director of Trade Trans Sp. z o.o., a forwarding company from Gdynia, and Andrzej A. Konarski - President of the Polish Business Club Hong Kong. The visit was a result of a recent Polish economic mission to China led by Slawomir Nowak - Minister of Transport, Construction and Maritime Economy, and joined by Ryszard Strzyzewicz - PGA SA President of the Board.

The partners shared the fact that they had taken part in the construction and modernisation of the majority of the Chinese ports. Considering the guarantee of the Chinese government i.e. USD 10bn of loans for the countries of the Central Europe, and especially to Poland, they are very much interested in establishing cooperation with appropriate partners and they are seeking opportunities for spending this sum.

President R. Strzyzewicz, who attended the meeting, familiarised the guests with the Port of Gdansk development plans and the possibilities of contingent investment commitment of the Chinese partners. Julian Skelnik - PGA's Foreign Relations, Marketing and Promotion Office Director presented detailed concepts of the port's infrastructural investments. The discussion also concerned the most important operators of the Gdansk port: DCT, Sea-Invest or Goodman (in relation to the Pomeranian Logistic Centre), who may be directly interested in the cooperation.
