A visit to the construction site of Border Veterinary Inspection Post

03.02.2005

On February 2, 2005, experts of the European Commission's Food and Veterinary Office (FVO) Indus Celms, Ioannis Annopulous and Judith Manhardt along with representatives of the National Veterinary Inspectorate visited the construction site of Border Veterinary Inspection Post at the Port of Gdansk. During the visit, it was agreed that upon completion of the construction work, the Post will be brought forward before FVO in order to run the necessary procedures required by the European Commission leading to the approval and listing of the Post in the EU border veterinary inspection posts register. The construction work and retrofitting of the building is due to completion in the third decade of March this year. The FVO experts expressed their understanding for measures taken by the Port of Gdansk Authority SA focused on putting the Border Veterinary Inspection Post to operation in the conceivably shortest space of time and agreed to carry out their procedures in the second quarter of 2005.
