Another ro-ro service launched at the Port of Gdansk

20.01.2003

The port of Gdansk has enriched its offer by launching a new ro-ro shipping service of Norwegian shipowner United European Car Carrier to connect Gdansk with the following ports: Southampton (Great Britain) - Zeebrugge (Belgium) - Bremerhaven (Germany) - Trelleborg (Sweden). The service provides for carrying to Poland new passenger vehicles manufactured in Great Britain and Benelux, as well as those carried from other continents to logistics centers in Bremerhaven and Trelleborg, and then shipped to Poland by sea. UECC shipowner is being represented in Poland by Wm H. Müller & Co. Ltd. agency.

The new shipping line is to be serviced by a 120-meter long and 18.8-meter wide ro-ro vessel m/v Autoracer with a draught of 6 meters.

The vessel is scheduled to call at Gdansk (Port Free Zone) on each Saturday on regular basis. The ship's first ever call at the Port of Gdansk took place on January 11, this year and its cargo consisted of 277 vehicles, whereas on Saturday, January 18, the number of vehicles totaled as much as 612.
