BALTEXPO 2007

07.09.2007

On 4-6 September, Gdansk was playing host to the 14th edition of the International Shipbuilding and Shipping Exhibition BALTEXPO 2007. This year's event gathered nearly 400 exhibitors representing: Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the UK, USA and - last but not least - Poland. Among businesses represented at the exhibition were industries such as ship building, ship repairs and overhauls, deck equipment, ship fittings and furnishings, ports and port services, port facilities and terminals, cargo handling machinery, shipping lines, maritime and port services, maritime publishing agencies and classification societies.

The official fair opening ceremony was attended by: Deputy Minister of Maritime Economy for maritime transport - Piotr Zalewski, Under Secretary of State at the Ministry of State Treasury - Slawomir Urbaniak, Governor of the Pomeranian Region - Piotr Karczewski, Deputy Mayor of the City of Gdansk - Marcin Szpak and President of the Pomerania Development Agency Pawel Brzezicki.

Once again, the Port of Gdansk Authority SA (PGA SA) held their exhibition stand jointly with the City of Gdansk. On behalf of PGA SA, the stand was hosted by the Board of Directors in its full three-person composition: Stanislaw Cora - President of the Board of Directors and Vice Presidents - Julian Skelnik and Marian Switek. At the exhibition stand, the Members of the Board received Deputy Minister of Maritime Economy for maritime transport, Piotr Zalewski, and also held numerous meetings with representatives of the maritime industry and with port's business partners.

PGA SA participation in BALTEXPO 2007 provided the opportunity to present the range of services offered by the Port of Gdansk, in particular to introduce investment projects currently under development as well as those scheduled for implementation.
