"Baltic Container Transport - on the edge of changes" Conference

On 22 -23rd March this year, the Central Maritime Museum in Gdansk played host to international conference entitled "Baltic Container Transport - on the verge of change". The conference was organized by Actia Forum and the Port of Gdansk Authority SA.

The conference was attended by 117 people, including 43 foreign guests. The participants included the representatives of the container transport companies and the Baltic ports. In his opening speech, President of the Board of PGA SA, Stanislaw Cora, Ph.D. informed that the conference was held in the 50th anniversary of the first use of the container in the maritime transport. The conference speeches and discussion panels touched upon the chances to improve road system in the Baltic Region, the dynamic growth of investments in the terminals in Russia and other Baltic States, the future of the container market in the Baltic Region, the cooperation with inland ports and the maritime container transport in the Baltic Region international trade. The conference proved that the beneficial prospects for the Baltic container terminals have just emerged.
