Belarusian delegates on a three-day visit to the Port of Gdansk23.12.2014 On December 17-19, 2014, the Port of Gdansk played host to the Belarusian delegation headed by the First Deputy Minister of Transport and Communication of the Republic of Belarus, Evgenyi Rogachov. Its members included Vladislav Lembevskiy - Deputy General Director of the State Company "Bielintertrans - transport and logistics centre" owned by the Belarus State Rail Company, and Vladimir Lustov - First Deputy Director of the Belarus State Rail Company. The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Consulate of the Republic of Belarus in Gdansk - Consul General Sergey Mikhnevich and Consul Tatyana Tayanovska. On the first day of their tour, the delegates visited the port's water basins on board the vessel "Kontroler-20". The cruise was hosted by PGA SA Vice President for Financial Affairs, Marek Pietruszewski. Next, the visitors were joined by PGA SA President of the Board, Dorota Raben, and enjoyed the panoramic view of the port facilities from the viewing gondola on top of the tower of the Northern Port Harbour Master's Office. The meeting was further attended by Member of the Board of the Pomerania Region, Ryszard Swilski, and by Deputy Mayor of the City of Gdansk for Economic Policy, Andrzej Bojanowski. The port's business offer and development projects were presented by PGA SA Marketing Specialist - Michal Stupak. The second day's agenda included discussions with experts representing Poland's Ministry of Infrastructure and Development, as well as businesses operating on the Port of Gdansk's premises. The delegates were briefed on versatile business offers promoted by DCT Gdansk SA and by the operator of the fish cold storage i.e. North Atlantic Producers Organisation, and also by companies such as Adampol, Loconi Intermodal and PKP Cargo. Participating on behalf of the Polish government were Dorota Pyc - Undersecretary at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Development, and Monika Niemiec-Butryn - Deputy Director at the Department of Maritime Transport and Shipping Safety. On the final day of their visit, the Belarusian delegation took the opportunity of visiting the largest container ship in the world - M/S "Mary Maersk". The vessel called at the Port of Gdansk under the regular ocean container shipping service to the ports in the Far East. |
