Border Veterinary Inspection Post in the Port of Gdansk launched for operation

11.04.2006

As agreed with the General Veterinary Inspectorate and Border Veterinary Officer, as of 20 April 2006, the Border Veterinary Inspection Post in the Port of Gdansk will become operational at the Wislane Quay.
The decision about closing the procedures on the approval of the post and launching its operation was made on 5 April 2006 at the session of the Standing Committee for Food Chain and Animal Health - SCOFCAH in Brussels. This decision resulted in the European Commission granting their approval of including the Port of Gdansk Border Veterinary Inspection Post in the listing of EU posts published in the Official Journal of the European Communities and authorized to perform border veterinary inspection for products of animal origin brought to the territory of the European Union from third countries.

As of 20 April 2006, the Port of Gdansk will provide the border veterinary inspection for a full-range of animal products including food products for human consumption - HC and food products for non-human consumption - NHC.
For information on veterinary inspection of the above-mentioned products, please contact the Border Veterinary Inspectorate:
