Busines Fair Play 200512.12.2005 On December 9, 2005 in Warsaw, the Jury Board of the business culture promoting "Business Fair Play" Programme, at their final meeting, took a decision to award the Port of Gdansk Authority SA with "Business Fair Play" 2005 Title and Certificate. The Port of Gdansk Authority SA had been subject to a comprehensive review carried out by the National Chamber of Commerce - the largest business self-governing organization in Poland. The awarded Certificate provides the evidence of due diligence in terms of developing proper relations within all areas that had been examined during the programme procedure: it confirms honesty and reliability of the Company in its approach to Clients, respect of the competition, timely performance of obligations towards the State Treasury, responsive attitude to the needs of the local community, friendly attitude towards the environment, participation in charity events, providing employees with conditions conducive to the efficient work as well as their career development. In other words, it amounts to the responsible business activity carried out to the benefit of all the parties involved - clients, suppliers, shareholders, employees, local communities, competition, local business - jointly building up the company's environs. The programme promoting business culture was initiated by the Port of Gdansk Authority SA in May 2005. During the six months of its implementation, the development of new projects was launched and the initiative and creativity of a large number of employees were boosted. Among the measures taken, there was the implementation of the code of ethics as well as the employee's code of conduct, adopted by the Company Board of Directors on October 14, 2005. The success that has been achieved provides not only the source of satisfaction to the Port of Gdansk Authority SA, but also the inspiration to constantly pursue ideas promoted within the programme.
