Changes in the Board of Directors of the Port of Gdansk Authority SA

On 25 August 2005, the Supervisory Board of the Port of Gdansk Authority SA held a session. As the term of office of some of the members of the Board of Directors of the Port of Gdansk Authority SA has drawn to a close, the proceedings of the Supervisory Board focused, among other things, on changes in the composition of the Board of Directors of the Port of Gdansk Authority SA.

Subsequent to Zbigniew Perlinski and Witold Antoniewicz having failed to obtain a seat for the coming tenure - the appointment to the Board of Directors of the Port of Gdansk Authority SA of Julian Skelnik was made, to the position of a Vice President. Consequently, over its new three-year term of office, the Board of Directors of the Port of Gdansk Authority SA will carry out its duties with a three-strong composition including: Andrzej Kasprzak - President, Andrzej Bojanowski and Julian Skelnik - Vice Presidents.

Julian Skelnik: born in 1954, in Gdynia. Graduate of the University of Gdansk, Faculty of Economics of Maritime Transport. Employee at P.S.M. "C. Hartwig", and later on researcher and teacher at the Institute of Economics and Sea Ports Management at the University of Gdansk, and President of P.U. i W. "Proxima". In 1990-1992, General Director of the N.S.Z.Z. "Solidarnosc" Economic Foundation and founder of the Gdansk Pomerania Development Agency SA. As of 1992, he conducted the business activity of "Investment and Equity Agency Julian Skelnik and Partners", and in the ensuing years he acted as Regional Director of the Life Insurance Company "Polisa Zycie" SA and the Public Pension Company "Polsat" SA, as well as Director of the Branch Office in Gdansk of the Bank Handlowy Investment Funds Company "Kapital Handlowy" SA. Since 2002, he is working as an independent consultant.
J. Skelnik, among his other positions, is a member of the Supervisory Board of the Theatrum Gedanense Foundation since 1990, the Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Denmark in Gdansk since 1993, a member of the Adam Smith Society of Polish Economists since 1995, and a member of the Supervisory Board of the Foundation of Gdansk Library of the Polish Academy of Sciences since 1999. He is married to Lydia and has two sons: Julian and Olaf.
