Chinese New Year celebrations

On February 18 this year, the East Asian Studies Centre of Gdansk University together with the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Gdansk held Chinese New Year 2010 celebrations chaired by full professor PhD. hab. Ewa Oziewicz director of the East Asian Studies Centre and prof. PhD. hab. Jozef Arno Wlodarski, Vice-President for Student Affairs.

The Port of Gdansk Authority SA invited to take part in the celebrations was represented by Marketing and Development Director, Julian Skelnik. In his speech Mr Skelnik focused on the event of significant importance for the Port of Gdansk, i.e. the inauguration of regular shipping connection from Shanghai to DCT Terminal in the Port of Gdansk on January 4 this year. He also emphasized the increasing cooperation between Poland and China which is essential for the economic development of Poland.

The celebrations were honoured with the presence of the Consul General of the People's Republic of China, Mr Xiang Zhaosheng.
