The Port of Gdansk Authority SA named the winner of the Pomeranian
Award "Economic Griffin 2006"23.05.2006 On 19 May 2006, this year's presentation ceremony of the Pomeranian Province economic awards was held in the beautiful setting of the Artus' Court in Gdansk. The event was attended by high profile officials, including: Piotr Olowski - Governor of the Pomeranian Province, Jan Kozlowski - Marshal of the Pomeranian Province and Pawel Adamowicz - Mayor of the City of Gdansk. Widely represented were the regional self-government and commercial organizations as well as major businesses operating in the Pomeranian Province.
The Pomeranian Award "Economic Griffin" competition is intended to promote economic growth in the Pomeranian Province by highlighting companies with the most profitable and desirable economic profile, as well as encouraging competition among businesses for the benefit of the region. With the preceding six editions of the competition (2000 - 2005), the "Griffin" statuette has become the most highly appreciated and prestigious regional economic award to be jointly conferred by the economic self-government organizations of the Pomeranian Province. By the decision of the Competition Board, the Port of Gdansk Authority SA had been named the winner of "Economic Griffin 2006" among large-sized businesses with over 250 employees. The statuette of Pomeranian "Griffin" awarded to the Port of Gdansk Authority SA was accepted by Andrzej Bojanowski, Vice President of the Board on behalf of Andrzej Kasprzak, President of the Board.
