Hyundai Glovis visits the Port of Gdansk24.07.2015 On July 23rd the Port of Gdansk SA had the pleasure to host representatives of Hyundai Glovis and Adampol SA.
Hyundai Glovis is a global logistics operator belonging to the Hyundai Kia Automotive Group as well as the main shareholder of Adampol, specialising in freight cars within Europe and elsewhere. The company also offers technical, logistical and storage services for its customers located across Eurasia.
Founded 25 years ago, the company is currently a powerful holding, comprising eleven companies located in countries such as Germany, the Czech Republic, Spain, Russia, Italy, Belgium, the United Kingdom and Poland. In Poland Adampol has several branches. One of them is located at the Port of Gdansk, in the Duty Free Zone. The purpose of the visit was to show the Port of Gdansk's logistics potential where the servicing of new cars represents the company's long-term future. Among the guests were members of the Board: Mr. IL-Hak Ju and Mr. Min-Ho, Director for Territorial Development - Mr. Dariusz Stypulkowski and representatives of the Gdansk branch of the company. Ms. Dorota Raben, CEO of the Port of Gdansk, welcomed the guests. During the meeting, which took place at the Harbour Master's Office of the Northern Port, the guests were shown a presentation of the Port of Gdansk conducted by Julian Skelnik, director for overseas and public relations, who discussed, among others, the further developmental perspectives of the Port of Gdansk, its current position on the European map of logistics and the main activities of the port. Particular attention was paid to the consistently growing volume of cargo handling at the Port of Gdansk and the investments related to the further development of its infrastructure. The Korean delegates stressed the similarities they noticed in the functioning of their home ports and the Port of Gdansk. They noted an important asset of the Port of Gdansk in its location and well-developed access infrastructure. These make it possible to operate competitive logistics solutions and forge further cooperation between the companies in terms of the future transportation of new commercial vehicles via the Port of Gdansk.
