Quality Certificates for the Naftoport and the Port Polnocny

26.04.2002

Integrated Management System - quality, safety, occupational hygiene, and the environmental protection - is a set of certificates of compliance with the PN-ISO 9002, PN-ISO 14001 and PN-N 18001 standards. On April 19th this year the certificates were officially awarded to the two companies operating at the Port of Gdansk: the Liquid Fuel Handling Company "Naftoport" Ltd. and the Cargo Handling and Storage Company "Port Polnocny" Ltd.

Bearing in mind the strategic significance of both companies operating at the crude oil and crude oil derivatives sea terminals in terms of the Polish economy and safety conditions in the Baltic Sea Region, the implementation of the Integrated Management System by these companies constitutes a major achievement. Operating within the system imposes the obligation on the both companies to strive for the achievement of such objectives as a constantly improving quality level of services and company's business activities, preserving the unpolluted natural environment, as well as providing a guarantee of safety standards and reliability. Another step has been taken towards the improved conditions of safe and secured existing and operating of the port in terms of the environmental protection and the relations with the residents of the Baltic Sea Region. It also contributes to increased standards of services rendered by the Port of Gdansk. The certificates acquired add up to the enhanced appearance of the Port of Gdansk when it comes to crude oil and crude oil derivatives handling.
