Large shipment of cars in the Port of Gdansk

20.03.2006

On Saturday, 18 March 2006, "Ocean Spirit" with 2061 vehicles onboard called at the Port of Gdansk. Due to ice cover in the Finnish ports, "Ocean Spirit" was unable to make its voyage to Finland.

"Ocean Sprit" is a large-sized vessel (190 metres in length) with a carrying capacity of 4 938 cars. Due to its parameters, "Ocean Spirit" was atypically moored at the Oliwskie Quay and the cars were carried onto the storage yards in the Port Free Zone. From there, the discharged vehicles will be shipped onboard smaller carriers - "City of Sunderland" (the vessel that arrived already on Sunday and took 198 cars), "City of Barcelona" and "Neckar Higway". The vehicles are destined for Finland, Russia and Estonia.

"Ocean Spirit" completed the unloading on 19 March at 1pm.
