31.08.2010

On 26th August 2010, at the Royal Castle in Warsaw, the results were announced of the 14th edition of the National Open Competition "Modernisation of the Year". The competition is gaining in popularity as it is held under the patronage of the Ministries of Infrastructure, National Education, Culture and National Heritage, Sport and Tourism, and the General Inspectorates of Building Control and Environmental Protection, and also thanks to the cooperation with the Polish Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Polish Chamber of Construction and the Association of Polish Municipalities. The chapter of the competition - including previous winners - faced a challenging task. In 2009, there were over 700 projects entered across 13 categories, competing for the prize. In each category, only one prize and one honorable mention were awarded: to the Investor, the Designer, and to the Contractor of the project. In the category "industrial and engineering structures", the honorable mention was awarded to the project "modernisation of steel piles in the hydraulic engineering structure of the Northern Port's Fuel Terminal". Receiving the prize from the hands of Deputy Minister of Infrastructure, Olgierd Dziekonski, were: PGA SA Member of the Board for Technical Matters, Andrzej Kapuscinski, and (in absentia) AQUAPROJEKT CEO, Kazimierz Mioduszewski, as well as the contractor - GT POLAND Ltd from Gdansk represented by the company's CEO, Aleksander Szypilow.
