Management of the HaminaKotka Port Authority on a visit to the Port of Gdansk07.10.2014 A ten-strong delegation representing the Management and the Supervisory Board of the joint Kotka and Hamina ports authority came (on 1 October 2014) on a 3-day study visit to the Gdansk coastal area. As a result of combining the passenger traffic and cargo shipping potentials, a versatile port facility was created, boasting the highest throughput among all the ports in Finland. After a one-day visit to the Port of Gdynia, the Finnish delegates visited the Port of Gdansk, where they listened to the presentation delivered by the Marketing Office Director, Jacek Kulesza, and giving the details regarding the port's business offer. The PGA SA President of the Board, Dorota Raben, discussed the scheduled development projects and answered questions regarding, among other things, the effectiveness of the port's investment projects. Following the meeting on top of the tower of the Harbour Master's Office in the Northern Port, the visitors proceeded to the Deepwater Container Terminal. In addition to their business meetings, they had an opportunity to visit - during the cargo handling operation in full swing - the Triple-E class container-carrier m/s Marstal Maersk, with a carrying capacity of 18,000 20-feet containers as a time, operating under the Maersk Line service from Asia to Gdansk.
