New member of the Port of Gdansk Authority SA management04.09.2008 In accordance with the competition schedule announced before the holiday season, the PGA SA Supervisory Board has appointed from among four candidates a new member of the Management Board. Andrzej Kapuscinski's (aged 56) scope of responsibilities will include the port technology segment thus supporting the activities of Ryszard Strzyzewicz - President of the Board and Slawomir Wrzesniak - Vice-President of the Board for Financial Affairs. By the same token, the Gdansk port has regained a specialist well-familiar with ensuring the robust cargo handling volumes and with expanding the throughput capacity of the port. Andrzej Kapuscinski, who holds a Master of Science degree in Ship Electrical Technology, began his thirty-year career at the Port of Gdansk, where he was hired immediately after receiving his diploma from the Gdansk University of Technology. Starting as a technological engineer, he also worked as a foreman, head of the department and head of the port terminal. For many years, he held the position of the director of port technology. His qualifications and skills required to perform new, responsible tasks have been verified at the Gdansk Foundation for Management Training as well as before the board of the Minister of State Treasury, where he received a diploma qualifying him for the work in supervisory boards of state companies.
