Partnership agreement between the Port, City and GEDA

07.03.2014

On 6 March 2014, the Board of Port of Gdansk Authority SA made a tripartite partnership agreement with the City of Gdansk and the Gdansk Economic Development Agency (GEDA) for the implementation of the joint project Design and Environmental Documentation for Investments Located in the Right-Bank Inner Port in Gdansk. The agreement was signed by: Mr Andrzej Bojanowski - Deputy Mayor of Gdansk, Mr Alan Aleksandrowicz - President of the Board of GEDA and Ms Dorota Raben, President of the Board of PGA SA being the Project Leader, and Mr Marek Pietruszewski, Vice-President of the Board of PGA SA.

The agreement was signed as a result of the call for proposals published by the European Commission on 11 December 2013 with regard to TEN-T projects to be implemented under the 2013 programme. The Board of PGA SA decided to jointly apply to the European Commission for funds necessary to prepare the design and environmental documentation for the project. Under this project PGA SA is planning to prepare the design and environmental documentation for the remodelling of a railway and road network in the Gorniczy Basin and Przemyslowe Quay. Project partners, in turn, are planning to commission producing the design and environmental documentation for the remodelling of Ku Ujsciu and Przetoczna streets as well as the documentation for the improving of accessibility of investment areas in the Port of Gdansk.

GEDA and the City of Gdansk declared their willingness to participate in the project, and the scope of works proposed by the project partners will make the port premises more attractive and the quays easier to access from the land side.

The decision on the award of the funds to be applied for under the partnership will be published in the second half of 2014.
