PGA SA and PERN "Przyjazn" SA signed a lease agreement

27.11.2012

On November 27th, 2012 in Gdansk, Port of Gdansk Authority SA and PERN "Przyjazn" SA signed a preliminary land lease agreement. The agreement concerns the land, where an Oil Terminal will be constructed. The agreement, concerning 28 hectares of land on PGA SA premises, was concluded for 30 years and specifies relations between the parties within the scope of the foundation and use of the entire Terminal's infrastructure. It also provides for the possibility of the Terminal being granted Duty Free Zone rights, in order to increase the competitive advantage of PERN's flagship investment.

PERN "Przyjazn" SA is a company in which the State Treasury holds 100% shares. It primarily deals in transportation of oil to oil refineries in Poland and East Germany via "Przyjazn" pipeline running from Adamowo to Plock and further to Schwedt, as well as the Pomeranian pipeline joining Plock and Gdansk. The reversible Pomeranian pipeline combined with the oil terminal in Gdansk allows for the import of raw material from the sea, as well as for the transit of crude oil through Poland. PERN also provides oil storage services in three bases: Adamowo, Plock and Gdansk, with the volume total of nearly 3 million m3. PERN also has a network of product pipelines, used for liquid fuel transportation.
PGA SA is a company in which the State Treasury has retained 85.71% shares, which shortlists it as one of companies crucial to public order and safety. The largest Polish sea port in Gdansk, being a versatile port at present, not only is a leader in container turnover in the southern Baltic region, but also has an 85% share in the Polish sea throughput of oil and its products. Deepwater, non-freezing terminals of the Outer Port in Gdansk, available for all vessels all the year round, may receive the largest ocean-going vessels, able to go through the Danish Straits.

Around 20 oil and petroleum product containers of circa 740 thou m3 volume, including full technical infrastructure, railway tracks and siding, pipelines and buildings will be built on the land leased for Terminal construction. The Oil Terminal will be equipped with facilities for handling several product types: numerous sorts of oil, diesel oil, petrol, aviation petrol and chemical products; and all that with regard to the highest environment safety standards.
