POLEXPORT'2002 in Kaliningrad

On May 14-17 this year Kaliningrad was playing host to the 7th Polish National Exhibition POLEXPORT' 2002. The programme of POLEXPORT included the presentation of companies, as well as the seminars with the major focus driven to effectiveness and safety standards in terms of the commercial co-operation between Poland and the Russian Federation. The exhibition was housed in two separate pavilions and gathered over 200 participants. Among the participants there were KUKE Export Loans Insurance Corporation, Polish Chamber of Maritime Commerce, Self-Government of the Pomeranian Province, "Nauta" Ship Repairs Yard Co., Gas and Crude Oil Operating Company from Cracow and J.W. Construction Ltd. An exhibition stand was also held by the Port of Gdansk Authority SA.

On May 14th and 15th the Port of Gdansk Authority SA was represented at the stand by Marian Switek - the President of the Board. Present there were also representatives of the Port of Gdansk Cargo Logistics Ltd. Jerzy Chabros - the President of the Board and Marek Czernowski - Chief Dispatcher at the Port of Gdansk. The stand of the Port of Gdansk Authority SA was visited by a large number of officials on behalf of Russian and Polish administration. They were, among others, Andrzej Pilat - Secretary of State at the Infrastructure Ministry, Genadij Maszkow - Russian Federation's Deputy Minister of Transport, Maciej Lesny - Under-Secretary of State at the Ministry of Economy, Wladimir Jegorow - Kaliningrad District Governor, Jan Zaworski - Member of the Polish-Russian Inter-Parliamentary Team and President of the Baltic States Inter-Parliamentary Team. The stand of the Port of Gdansk Authority SA also attracted the attention of business representatives interested in cargo handling and storage opportunities at the Port of Gdansk. Questions were asked mainly in relation to container handling and storage opportunities, frozen commodities, timber and metal wastes.

The Port of Gdansk Authority SA received the First Prize for the stand decoration and marketing organization. It was awarded the "Amber Casket" Prize granted by the Russian Federation Kaliningrad District Governor.
