Port of Gdansk in Brno

12.10.2001

On September 24-28 this year Brno (Czech Republic) was hosting the first edition of the International Fair "Transport & Logistic'2001" that was attended by the Port of Gdansk Authority SA, whose exhibition stand covered the area of 25 m2. Previously, the fair had been held under the name "Intrama Cenetra" and the Port of Gdansk Authority SA had participated in the event repeatedly over the past years.

This year's edition of "Transport & Logistic '2001 attracted over 200 companies coming from a large number of countries. The Port of Gdansk Authority SA was not a sole representative of the Polish maritime sector. Among the exhibitors there also was the Szczecin-Swinoujscie Seaport Authority SA accompanied by the representatives of the companies that co-operate with the port. The other participants of the fair included a Yugoslavian port (Port of Rijeka) and a Slovak port (Port of Koper). The event gathered mainly the forwarding agents, as well as the logistic and transportation companies. The fair hosted a strong representation of the railway companies from the Czech Republic and Slovakia, as well as Germany and Russia.

The stand arranged by the Port of Gdansk Authority SA captured the attention of a large number of visitors. Most of the questions referred to the type of offered services, the tariffs at the Gdansk Container Terminal and the Gdansk - Odessa transportation corridor. Tradition has it that the stand of the Port of Gdansk Authority SA is regularly visited by Captain Jerzy Uzieblo - the Commercial Adviser of the Republic of Poland in Prague, as well as Mr. Marian Ozimek - the Consul of the Republic of Poland in Ostrava. The duties of the host at the stand of the Port of Gdansk Authority SA were carried by: Jerzy Lebiedz - Technical Director, Jacek Rosso - Port Development Department and Magdalena Muntowska - Promotion Department.

The major target for the participation of the Port of Gdansk Authority SA in the fair "Transport & Logistic'2001" was to develop new business relations. Moreover, the event provided the opportunity to hold meetings with the existing business partners.
