Port of Stockholm on a visit to the Port of Gdansk28.10.2009 On 22 October 2009, the Port of Gdansk hosted a 23-strong delegation of the Port of Stockholm, headed by Director of Logistics Anita Krafft. The large group represented cargo handling terminals, a passenger terminal and harbour master's office. During their visit to the Gdansk port, the delegates were introduced to the quays suited to handling cruise ships, the Polferries terminal and the activity of the Port Free Zone, which has specialized over the recent years in handling car-carriers. The Swedish delegation also visited the Deepwater Container Terminal, where the hosts briefed them on the capacity and development perspectives of the facility, and presented technical efficiency of machines and operators performing container handling operations. PGA SA Marketing Specialist Michal Stupak, who played host to the delegation, invited the guests to the observation gondola on top of the tower of the Northern Port Harbour Master's Office. The panoramic view of the port facilities and the Gdansk Old Town provided an excellent complement to presentation of the Port of Gdansk business offer and development plans. |
