First presentation of a Polish seaport in Warsaw10.07.2001 This year's edition of the Transportation and Shipping Fairs 2001 was in fact initiated one day prior to the schedule owing to the Port of Gdansk - according to the audience attending the port's presentation, which was held at the Sobieski Hotel in Warsaw on the eve of the fairs i.e. on 26th June 2001. The presentation gathered about 50 visitors including the representatives of the companies co-operating with the Port of Gdansk, namely: Euroamer, I. C. E. Transport Poland Ltd., Pekaes Multishipping Company, Trade Trans, Ciech, Polkombi, Evergreen Poland, Gdynia Maritime Agency and others. Participation of such companies as Nissan Poland and Cosco Poland should be stressed due to the fact that their trust and confidence in the Port of Gdansk proved fundamental for the current effective co-operation in the field of cargo handling and vehicle storage in the Port Free Zone, as well as containers storage at the Gdansk Container Terminal. The presentation attracted the representatives from a number of embassies: Danish, Dutch, Lithuanian, Ukrainian, Latvian and UK and also the President of the General Office of Public Roads. It drew considerable attention of the press represented by such magazines as "Polish Transport Magazine", "Business Pulse" or "Foreign Markets". Among the visitors was the head of the Port of Hamburg representative's office in Warsaw.
The Port of Gdansk was represented by the Managing Director of the Development Division of the Port of Gdansk Authority SA - Mr. Krzysztof Urbas, as well as the President of the Management Board of the Gdansk Container Terminal - Mr. Krystian Klein. Also present were the representatives of Port of Gdansk Cargo Logistics, the departments of marketing, promotion and development planning of the Port of Gdansk Authority SA, as well as the representative's office in Kaliningrad.
