President of Ukraine, Viktor Yanukovych at the Port of Gdansk

A year after assuming the office, on 3 February 2011, President of Ukraine, Viktor Yanukovych came to Poland. On the second day of his itinerary, he paid a visit to the Port of Gdansk. During the meeting with PGA SA President of the Board, Ryszard Strzyzewicz and with PPPP "Naftoport" Ltd President of the Board, Dariusz Kobierecki, the guest listened the presentation regarding the Port's throughput capacity, with special reference to its potential for liquid fuel handling. The meeting was held in recognition of President Yanukovych's interest in the Odessa-Gdansk pipeline connection to be provided by the "Sarmatia" company, with Poland being one of its shareholders. Although it is expected that the project will take time to complete, the visit by the President of Ukraine at the Port bodes well for its future implementation.
