His itinerary started with a visit to the Port of Gdansk. Prime Minister was accompanied by local officials, among the others, Piotr Olowski, Governor of Pomeranian Region and Jan Kozlowski, Marshal of Pomeranian Region. Prime Minister Kazimierz Marcinkiewicz refrained from making a statement about the choice of location. However, at the meeting with entrepreneurs and self-government officials at the Arthus Court in Gdansk, he acknowledged that the Port of Gdansk is very well prepared for the construction of the gas terminal. During the talks held at the Port of Gdansk, Prime Minister Marcinkiewicz announced that within a month a vice-president responsible for the gas terminal would be appointed in the Polish Oil and Gas Company. His task will include the development of a reliable analysis regarding the location of this investment project. This will be determined - emphasized Kazimierz Marcinkiewicz - solely by economic conditions and safety reasons. According to the Prime Minister there is a good chance that, by September, all materials will have been compiled that will provide basis for making the decision. |
