On June 25 this year, to mark the Sea Days 2004, in the historical halls of the Green Gate in Gdansk a meeting was promoted by the Port of Gdansk Authority SA. Among the guests attending the event were, among others, the Under-Secretary of State at the Ministry of Infrastructure - Witold Gorski, Elzbieta Niebisz - Head of the Proprietors Inspection Department discharging the duties of the General Director at the Ministry of State Treasury, as well as the Deputy Head in the aforementioned Department - Zbigniew Gryglas and Tadeusz Gorecki - Deputy Head of the Department of Transportation at the Ministry of Infrastructure. The meeting also hosted Wieslaw Weitz - Vice-President of the Industry Development Agency, Krystyna Gozdawa-Nocon - Assistant Governor of the Pomeranian Province, Pawel Adamowicz - City Mayor of Gdansk, Igor Jagniszak - Head of the Maritime Office in Gdynia and his Deputy - Andrzej Krolikowski. Attending the event also were heads of port operating companies and businesses co-operating with the Port of Gdansk Authority SA.

Andrzej Kasprzak - President of the Board at the Port of Gdansk Authority SA while extending his welcome to the guests, announced the results at a close of the accounting year and the favourable assessment of work performance of the Board presented by the General Shareholders Meeting. At the same time, he emphasized the continuously maintained rate of cargo handling, as well as the work performance in terms of investment and repairs in the current year.

President Andrzej Kasprzak also announced the completion of work related to the amended set of regulations under the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS) having been successfully introduced in the Port of Gdansk. These achievement earned the apt appreciation as the heads of respective port facilities were presented with the ISPS Certifications. The Certifications were handed in by the Under-Secretary of State at the Ministry of Infrastructure - Witold Gorski and Igor Jagniszak - Head of the Maritime Office in Gdynia. Additionally, they delivered a set of certifications concerning port facilities at the Port of Gdynia to the hands of Jerzy Wielinski - President of the Port of Gdynia Authority SA.

Addressing the audience, the Deputy Minister - Witold Gorski highlighted the significance of safety measures in seaports, which was followed by him congratulating all port workers on the occasions of Sea Days.

Subsequently, the hosts of the event extended their invitation to all guests to visit the exhibition held at the Green Gate - "Leonardo da Vinci - the Genius and His Machines", that was co-sponsored by the Port of Gdansk Authority SA. As a supplement of the spiritual experience, awaiting the guests were refreshments served in the cellars of the Green Gate.
