Shanghai-Gdansk cooperation on the increase as concrete projects take shape13.03.2009 The arrival of a large group of delegates from Shanghai at the head office of the Port of Gdansk Authority SA undoubtedly confirmed that the cooperation projects between the two ports are now set to take definite and tangible shape. Business contacts developed so far provided the grounds for defining common goals. The agreement, which was signed on 11 March this year by Director-General of Shanghai Municipal Transport and Port Authority, Li Wenhui, on the one hand, and PGA SA President of the Board Ryszard Strzyzewicz and PGA SA Vice-President Slawomir Wrzesniak on the other, established sister-port partnership between the two seaports. The cooperation will focus on building a development and port management strategy, fostering technological and commercial exchange, promoting maritime transport, improving turnover capacity and efficiency as well as developing a competitive edge. It is also expected that the cooperation will involve investment projects as well as expanding shipping services. |
