29.09.2004

On 27-28 September 2004 there was another international event connected with the Polish participation in the TEDIM Programme. Poland, holding the chairmanship of TEDIM this year, was the organiser of the open TEDIM International Coordinating Committee meeting, which took place in Gdansk in Hotel Mercure Hevelius. The main goal of TEDIM is to create an efficient logistics network fostering the co-operation between possibly all operators within the field of maritime economy of the countries in the Baltic Sea Region, with the special emphasis on the sea ports. Port of Gdansk Authority SA takes part in BaSIM (Baltic Sea Information Motorways) project run under TEDIM umbrella.

The meeting was chaired by Mr. Tadeusz Gorecki, Deputy Director of the Maritime Transport Department of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Poland. Among the participants there were representatives of the following member countries: Estonia, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Russia.

Guests also attended a catamaran trip around the Port of Gdansk and took part in presentation of port’s prospective developments and informational infrastructure.
