On 29th September the Port of Gdansk Authority SA played host to another delegation interested in the co-operation with the Port of Gdansk. After recent visits of the representatives of the Chinese Port of Ningbo and the British economic mission, another group of visitors to the Port of Gdansk was this time a numerous delegation of the members of the Association of Russian Ports.

The Association of Russian Ports gathers representatives not only of the ports in Vladivostock, Moscow, Archangel, Murmansk or Kamchatka but also of many companies engaged in the operation of and services to ports. Oleg Terekhov, the Association's President, emphasised that they are very much interested in the situation in the port, its development plans and the possibility of establishing the co-operation. Thus among the participants of the meeting in the tower of of the Harbour Master's Office at the Northern Port there were not only the members of the Board of the Port of Gdansk Authority SA, Vice-President Andrzej Bojanowski and Director Witold Antoniewicz, but also the representatives of the managements of such operating companies as Port of Gdansk Cargo Logistics, "Naftoport" and "Chemiki".

The participants of the meeting received a welcome from Andrzej Bojanowski, Vice-President of the Port of Gdansk Authority SA. Next, the delegates were given the presentation of the Port of Gdansk made by Ryszard Mazur, the Deputy Head of the Marketing Department of the Port of Gdansk Authority SA. It introduced the visitors to the the port's present condition, its structure, cargo handling potential and the development strategy (resulting also from Poland being the European Union member) and the undertakings carried out which are partially financed from the EU budget. The presentation was received with great interest, which was reflected in later, more direct talks.
