The biggest crude oil cargo left the Port of Gdansk29.03.2007 On 28 March this year, oil carrier "Universal Queen" took record-breaking oil cargo from the Port of Gdansk. The vessel's deadweight amounts to 309 thou. DWT, the length to 330 m and the width to 60 m and the carrier is one of the biggest vessels sailing on the Baltic Sea. It has already been the third such a large oil carrier handled in the Liquid Fuels Terminal. Unusual is the volume of the handled cargo, amounting to 190,037 tons. The oil handling procedure at "T" Berth began on 27 March at 8:54 and finished the following day at 10:18. The vessel took the maximum volume of crude oil that renders crossing the Danish Straits at loaded draught possible. Liquid fuels are the largest cargo group handled in the Port of Gdansk. In 2006, the Port handled record-breaking volume of those fuels that totaled almost 13 million tons. |
