10.07.2007

"Thomson Spirit" is the biggest among the cruise liners that have so far visited the Port of Gdansk. The vessel called at Gdansk on 10 July this year and berthed at the Oliwskie Quay.

The cruise liner is part of a fleet of cruise vessels owned by the British shipowner Thomson Cruises and is sailing under the Cypriot flag. It is 214.66 metres in length, 27.26 metres in width and has a gross tonnage of 33,930 GT. The vessel boasts luxurious amenities, including 2 swimming pools, 5 bars and lounges, 3 restaurants, night club, beauty parlour, sauna and massage, cinema, library, casino, video games, boutiques, sports deck and teen area. Its nine decks offer a range of 627 passenger cabins and there are 7 lifts at passengers' service.

"Thomson Spirit" brought to Gdansk 1,229 visitors, which generates widespread publicity and considerable benefit for the city. This year is expected to see a significant growth in the number of calls from cruise vessels as compared with the previous years. Another visit of "Thomson Spirit" is already scheduled for September.
