The cruising season in full swing

19.07.2005

This summer has welcomed us with the superb weather conditions that also please the tourists arriving in Gdansk on board cruise liners berthing at the Port of Gdansk. This year's season is another one to see a continuous growth in the number of calls made by such vessels at the Port of Gdansk. Currently, 36 calls are expected this year, whilst talks are already under way on booking schedules for two years ahead.

Increasingly more frequently, there are as many as several passenger ships berthed simultaneously at the Port of Gdansk. On 14 July this year, at the Westerplatte Ferry Terminal, a 180 meter long ship "Explorer" was moored, that had called the previous day with the purpose of staying at the Port of Gdansk for 4 days. At the same quay, a 112 meter vessel "Bremen" was berthed, whereas the Oliwskie Quay accommodated the frequent visitor to Gdansk - a 181 meter long ship "Regatta". The view was complete with the ferry "Scandinavia" operating regular services to Nynashamn, Sweden every other day.
