The first supply of fish for the NAPO cold store

19.09.2014

On 19 September 2014, the reefer vessel "Silver Bergen" docked at the WOC I Quay. The ship, with a carrying capacity of 4,240 tonnes and operating under the Norwegian flag, brought almost 1,100 tonnes of freshly frozen fish from the port of Tvoroyri in the Faroe Islands. In addition to launching the operation of the cold store newly-built by the North Atlantic Producers Organisation (NAPO), it also provided a test of the technology to handle this sensitive type of cargo. In the next few days, the NAOP is expecting more reefer vessels delivering fish.
