The Logistics Centre set for development

06.07.2007

On 6 July this year, the City of Gdansk and the Port of Gdansk Authority SA signed an agreement concerning the development of the Logistics Centre. The centre will take up an area of 210 hectares of land currently owned by the City of Gdansk and PGA SA. The parties to the agreement, which was signed by the City Mayor of Gdansk Pawel Adamowicz on behalf of the Municipality of Gdansk and by President of the Board Stanislaw Cora and Vice President of the Board Marian Switek on behalf of the Port of Gdansk Authority SA, had undertaken to set up a company with the purpose of enabling the construction and the operation of the Logistics Centre. The company - by way of a public tender - will select a Centre operating company. The parties to the agreement will commission the drawing up of a preliminary feasibility study together with an architectural conceptual design and a proposal for business operation of the Logistics Centre. The facility will be situated in the area of the Northern Port and on the land adjacent to the immediate vicinity of the Deepwater Container Terminal Gdansk.
