On May 31 - June 3 this year, Munich was hosting another edition of the Europe's leading transport and logistics trade fair TRANSPORT LOGISTIC 2005. The event had gathered 1 333 exhibitors representing 51 countries, among them the Port of Gdansk that could not have missed the opportunity to attend it. The exhibitors represented wide-ranging variety of transport sectors and offered services such as haulage and logistics, as well as the supply of equipment and accessories, means of road, rail and combined transportation, port-designated logistical systems and safety systems. Among the seaports attending the event, there were hubs such as Hamburg, Rotterdam, Antwerp, Zeebrugge, Rostock, Turku, Rauma, Gent, Bilbao, as well as the Polish ports: besides Gdansk - Gdynia and Szczecin-Swinoujscie.

The exhibition promoters emphasized a significant growth in participation in this year's edition of TRANSPORT LOGISTIC from exhibitors operating in Central and Eastern Europe. Alongside the ports, Poland's representation to the fair included: Maritime Agency Gdynia, Baltic Container Terminal, Baltic General Cargo Terminal Gdynia, Terramar Ltd, Spedcont Forwarding Poland Ltd, PKP Cargo SA, Trade Trans Forwarding Ltd, Mirtrans International Forwarding Ltd, INTRA SA (automotive transportation), Polish Association of International Forwarders and CTL Logistics SA.

The Port of Gdansk Authority SA, at its exhibition booth, was represented by: Head of Shipping Development and Tariffs Department - Danuta Bilat, Head of Promotion Department - Grazyna Balcerak and Promotion Specialist - Magdalena Obszarska. On behalf of the major operating company at the Port of Gdansk - Port of Gdansk Cargo Logistics - acted the President of the Board of Directors - Marek Frackowski.

The range of services offered by the Port, as well as the prospective development that is set to be spurred by the construction of a new container terminal in the Northern Port had attracted a great deal of interest among those visiting the fair. A large number of talks had been held with business partners, that pertained not only to promotional information, but also to commercial arrangements. Additionally, new business contacts had been established, that are expected to bring substantial effects in the future.
