Transport Logistic China 2008

23.06.2008

On 17-19 June this year, Shanghai was hosting the 3rd International Fair and Exhibition Transport Logistic China 2008. The Port of Gdansk Authority SA participated as an exhibitor hosting stand jointly with the Szczecin and Swinoujscie Seaports Authority SA. The PGA SA was represented by Slawomir Wrzesniak - Vice-President of the Board for Financial Affairs, Ryszard Mazur - Director of the Development Division and Magdalena Obszarska - Deputy Head of the Marketing and Promotion Department. Representing Port of Gdansk Cargo Logistics - the biggest operating company at the Gdansk port - was Marek Frackowski, President of the Board.

This year's edition of Transport Logistic China gathered 430 exhibitors representing 46 countries from all over the world. National stands hosted representatives of eight countries: Belgium, the Czech Republic, France, Spain, the Netherlands, Germany, Russia and Italy. The fair saw the attendance of eleven thousand visitors.

The current business offer of the Port of Gdansk as well as its potential for expansion raised considerable interest among the visitors. The PGA SA participation in the Fair and Exhibition Transport Logistic China 2008 provided an opportunity for the promotion of the port as well Gdansk and Poland. The exhibition stand hosted a large number of talks with the Gdansk port clients and business partners. The event also afforded the opportunity to establish new business contacts that are expected to bring fruit in the future.

Among the visitors to the PGA SA exhibition stand was Grazyna Godlewska-Lysiak - Deputy Consul for Economic Affairs from the General Consulate of the Republic of Poland in Shanghai. Additionally, the PGA SA representatives attending the fair in China took the opportunity to visit the most recently built container terminal in the Port of Shanghai and to meet with the Port of Shanghai President of the Board, who was invited to pay a visit to the Gdansk port.

Another edition of the fair and exhibition is scheduled for 8-10 June 2010 in Shanghai.
