"Passenger" week in the Port of Gdansk

19.07.2002

July is the month of visits of passenger ships in the Port of Gdansk. On Tuesday, 16 July 2002, in the morning, the cruiser "Silver Shadow", under the flag of the Bahamas, made port in Gdansk. The ship, which moored at Oliwskie Quay, was 182 metres long. There were 291 members of the crew and 356 passengers on board. "Silver Shadow" left the Port the same day in the evening.

On Wednesday, 17 July 2002, even a bigger cruiser (204 metres long) - "Prinsendam", under the flag of the Netherlands, arrived in the Port of Gdansk. The ship was on the roads at 6 a.m. It moored also at Oliwskie Quay. There were over 1200 people on board - 500 crew members and about 700 passengers. The ship put to sea at 5 p.m.

The following day, 18 July 2002, "World of Renaissance", a 150-metres-long ship under the flag of Greece, arrived in the Port of Gdansk. It will remain there until the evening of 21 July. Beside 185 crew members there are 432 passengers on board. Those are mainly students, as the cruise has been organised by an American university.
