World's maritime academies in the Port of Gdansk07.03.2014 On 3 March 2014, Professor Park Jinsoo from Korea Maritime University in Busan, a port situated on the AE10 container service's route from the Far East to Gdansk, visited the Port of Gdansk during his journey to Europe. The programme of the study tour included similar visits to Bremen and Goteborg. While listening to a presentation given by Mr Michal Stupak from the PGA SA Marketing Office, the guests learned about the specific nature of the Port of Gdansk, its handling operations structure and planned investments. They also held interesting conversations with Master Mariner Marek Bielecki, Chief Pilot of the Port of Gdansk, and duty officers from the Harbour Master's Office. Detailed questions were asked about navigation safety and VTS procedures. The world's growing interest in the Port of Gdansk was also proven earlier (on 12 February 2014) by a visit paid by representatives of maritime universities from Ghana, Japan, China, Romania and Bulgaria, who came to Poland at the Gdynia Maritime University's invitation. The view of the port's panorama stretching out from the Harbour Master's Office tower in the Port Polnocny made it easier to understand the presentation about PGA SA investment objectives. Additionally, the guests took a close look at the recently opened Dry Bulk Terminal in the Port Polnocny, Deepwater Container Terminal and quays in the Gorniczy Basin.
